Huhne - the tax debate

Chris Huhne made an interesting point on tax this evening when interviewed by some LibDem bloggers. He pointed out that the tax take of the governmenthas hovered more or less at 40% over the years.

So, it is pointless arguing over whether taxes should be higher or lower. Instead we should be getting to the argument about getting a real sense of accountability into how the money is used.
